What Students Are Saying
“The description of a birthkeeper really resonated. I am trained to teach hypnobirthing & this has never felt fully aligned. And now I understand that what I was always being called to was birth keeping! I also love the wise woman approach, rooted in traditional knowledge.”
Rosaleen Hird, The Yorkshire Rose Birthkeeper
“I've really enjoyed the journal work as it's really given me so much clarity, reflecting on my lineage, my scripts around birth, and the type of birthkeeper I want to be.”
Lara Calus, Birthkeeper.

Start your Journey
I give thanks to my mentors and teachers over the years I have practiced as a midwife and birthkeeper. I share below some works of those that have guided and informed me in creating this course.
Learn about the wise Michel Odent with whom I learned all about physiological birth with Melanie the Midwife on her Great Birth Rebellion podcast.
Listen to the first chapter ‘Herstory’ in Reclaiming Childbirth as a Rite of Passage by Rachel Reed, a key text in this work for all doulas and midwives.
The keys to physiological birth - written back in 2002 by the late Tricia Anderson, independent midwife and one of my student midwifery lecturers.
Explore the reasons, evidence and understanding of freebirth with Dr Sara Wickham
And if you want to understand what’s actually happening with maternity services in the UK - listen to this podcast with Sheena Byrom and Soo Downe.
This doula training is a journey, and an invitation to think deeply, grow in knowledge and practice with integrity to walk with families through the journey of pregnancy and birth.
Rooted in respect of physiology and the symbiosis of mother or birthing person and baby, relationship-based care, and lived experience, while also engaging honestly with complexity, uncertainty, and the realities of modern maternity care.
You will learn how to support pregnancy, labour, birth, and the early postnatal period using a holistic approach while understanding the medical model to help families navigate it confidently when needed.
Mentoring, reflective practice, and case discussion are woven throughout, so learning doesn’t stay theoretical.
Become a holistic birth doula, weaving science and the sacred, intuition and evidence.
