The Art of Birthkeeping

It is part practical training, part self-development, part ceremony. We’ll work with clay and rebozo, map babies in the womb, make labyrinths, watch a birth film together, and sit in circle at the end of each day to integrate what we’ve learned.

You will leave with real skills and real tools. You will also leave knowing yourself more deeply as a birthkeeper; your edges, your truth and your gifts.

You are welcome to attend as a standalone birthkeeper weekend, or as part of your full doula course with me.

Birthkeeper Immersion

Arrival on Friday

  • Welcome, getting to know each other and shared supper

  • Circle, Ceremony & Sisterhood - we share cacao to open our hearts, set our intentions and ‘arrive’ into this weekend together

Saturday

  • Supporting physiological birth - theory and practice, drawing on the science, together with empirical evidence, birth stories, and practical skills.

  • Supporting longer physiological labour with movement & tools (biomechanics, peanut ball, birth ball, rebozo)

  • Freetime OR an optional choice such as waterbirth/VBAC

  • Birth film followed by discussion & reflection

Sunday

  • Holistic Prenatal Support - understanding and mapping the baby’s position in the womb using our senses

  • Birth art - An exploration of right and left brain, why art deepens intuitive connection, and how creative practice can be woven into the way you work with clients

  • The Unexpected but Possible - a realistic look at birth emergencies, our role, responsibility, and navigating trust with respect for birth.

  • Supper - ‘Calling in your Birthkeeper Vision’. Who are you becoming in this work? What are you calling in? Or free time to explore the local area.

Monday

  • Nervous System Care for Birthkeepers - simple, practical tools to support you

  • Closing the Circle - coming full circle from our intentions, to what we have learned about this work, ourselves, and how we will move forward authentically as a birthkeeper

  • 6 Residential spaces £295 

  • Deposit £50 to reserve your space.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Priority is given to current students but you are welcome to apply for a place on the weekend if not already a student with me.

  • Absolutely. This weekend is for everyone who is walking the path of a doula or birthkeeper. It’s designed to create space for you to tune into the birthkeeper you are becoming while giving you tangible skills and tools to take away in your practice.

  • Simple meals and drinks from Friday evening to Monday morning, all materials (clay, art supplies,), accommodation, and everything that happens across the four days. Travel to Cornwall and any external accommodation that you might prefer is your own arrangement.

  • We are just outside Penzance in West Cornwall, with a view across the bay to St Michael's Mount. The nearest train station is Penzance, which has direct connections from London Paddington. I can share the full address once your place is confirmed.

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy

    I understand that life happens, and I want this to feel as supportive and flexible as possible while also protecting the integrity of the training space.

    Cooling-off period
    After booking, you have a 14-day cooling-off period in line with UK distance selling regulations. During this time, you can request a full refund, no questions asked.

    After the 14-day period
    Because this is a small, in-person training with limited spaces, refunds are not guaranteed after the initial 14 days. However, you do have options:

    • Transfer your place to a future training (if available)

    • Gift or sell your place to someone else (just let me know their details so I can transfer it over)

    If you can no longer attend


    Please reach out as soon as possible. If I’m able to fill your space, I may be able to offer a partial refund—but this can’t be guaranteed.

    My intention is always to be fair, reasonable, and supportive - while also honouring the time, preparation, and commitment that goes into holding this training.
