Reclaiming Birth

Vaginal Birth After Caesarean

A VBAC doesn't start in labour. It starts with you.

Are you hoping for a VBAC?

You had a caesarean you didn't want and you want a natural birth this time, but...

✓

You had a long labour with a back-to-back baby last time. What if it happens again?

✓

You've been warned of the risks of rupture and now you're really anxious.

✓

What if my cervix just doesn't dilate?

✓

Am I putting my baby at risk by wanting this?

✓

They've told me I can't go in the birth centre or go in the pool.

✓

They said I can't have a homebirth.

✓

They've told me I'll probably need another caesarean anyway.

But what you really want is a natural vaginal birth.

THE THOUGHTS THAT KEEP YOU AWAKE

And the questions keep going round in your head...

What if my body doesn't labour properly again?

What if I get to the same point as last time and end up with another caesarean?

How do I know what to agree to and what I can say no to?

Am I being unreasonable wanting a homebirth?

What if I make the wrong decision?

The more you read, research and hear about the risks, the more uncertain you become.

Why does preparing for a VBAC feel so difficult?

You've already been through a birth that didn't go the way you hoped. Perhaps it was long, exhausting or even traumatic. Perhaps you were induced, your cervix didn't dilate, or your baby was in the 'wrong' position.

Now you're left wondering if the same thing could happen again?

The doctors are warning you at every appointment about the risks of uterine rupture, and maybe even trying to talk you out of a natural birth. Plus the midwife has said you're not allowed in the birth centre or in the pool.

You're scrolling through birth stories on Instagram, listening to podcasts, but one minute you feel confident, the next you're questioning everything.

It's just so hard to know what to do.

You don't have to accept everything you're being told without question.

You need to know what the risks really mean for you, what your rights are and how to increase your chance of a vaginal birth.

THE VBAC PREPARATION MASTERCLASS

What we'll cover

Four areas to help you understand your options, prepare differently and take an active role in your birth.

01

Understanding your previous birth

What happened last time? What might have influenced your labour and birth, and what can you learn from that experience?

02

Understanding VBAC

The evidence around VBAC, uterine rupture and the factors that influence your chances of a vaginal birth.

03

Your options and your choices

What does routine maternity care offer? What do the guidelines say? And what choices are actually yours when it comes to induction, monitoring, birthplace and the care you receive?

04

Preparing for a different birth

What supports physiological labour, how to prepare your body and mind, and how to approach this birth with greater confidence.

I'm Evony, a birth educator, author and former midwife.

I’ve spent over 20 years supporting women through pregnancy and birth, including many making decisions about VBAC, navigating the maternity system, and planning births outside standard guidelines.

I bring together practical experience supporting women, research and evidence on VBAC, and an understanding of the policies and guidelines that shape the care you are routinely offered.

I want you to understand what's actually going on, know what questions to ask and feel more confident making decisions about your own birth.

Because you deserve more than a list of risks. You deserve to understand your options.

You’ll learn all this
