You really want to birth your baby naturally.

But is this you?

‘I’m terrified of ending up like last time. I did all the work, yet I still had an awful birth.”

My last birth left me feeling like a failure, but I KNOW I can do this.'“

'“It’s my first baby, and everyone says I shouldn’t hope for too much in case I’m disappointed."

This programme is for you if…

  • This is your first baby, and you care about yourself and your baby’s health

  • It’s not your first baby, but you did the hypnobirthing and pregnancy yoga last time and it STILL ended up in a traumatic medicalised birth

  • You’ve had a previous caesarean, but you want a vaginal birth this time

“Slowly, that doubt transformed into a deep, quiet sense of empowerment. She didn't just give me information; she helped me get back my belief in my own body.”

“I really didn't believe in myself at first. The "what ifs" were loud, and my confidence was low. But within just a couple of preparation sessions with Evony, I started to see a real shift in how I felt.”

A birth without drugs. Maybe at home or in a birth centre. A waterbirth. To feel the intensity and maybe even the pleasure of labour.

But what are your chances when the caesarean birth rate in the UK is around 44%, and 1 in 3 labours are induced?

What is the group programme?

The Instinctive Birth Container is a small online group that gathers over five weeks to explore, learn and prepare for birth together.

Each week has a theme drawn from The Instinctive Birth Method, and each session is a mix of teaching from my two decades of supporting physiological birth, reflection and discussion. To talk openly, safely and take control of the way you want to birth your baby.

What we cover across the five weeks

Week 1 - Know Your Own Mind. No one loves your baby more than you. We dive into what may influence you on your journey, and you’ll get clear on what truly matters to you, so your preparation begins from within, what’s important to you. We unpick what you’re bringing to this pregnancy and birth - what we believe about birth and how that affects what you actually want. Unpacking the stories we believe and tell ourselves enables us to listen to our own voice - your instinct.

Week 2 - Know Your Body. Here’s where we reclaim our trust in the innate physiological process of labour and birth. We dive into a physiological, magical, hormonal cocktail of labour and birth. What really supports it, what disturbs it, and the key ingredients to maximise your ability to birth your baby naturally, including movement, where to birth and everything from starting labour to birthing the placenta. Let’s unpick what makes physiological birth work.

Week 3 - Know Your System. As statistics show a 44% vaginal birth in the UK, you need to know how your intention to have a natural birth could be supported (or not) within the NHS. From my experience as a midwife, you will learn how the system is designed, what is offered routinely and how you can stay centred in your instinct and choices when engaging with care providers. This will include things like induction, vaginal exams, monitoring, and even hats on babies.

Week 4 - Find Your Voice. This is where you pull the threads together for your unique birth vision. What will you need to feel able to journey through labour? What will help you feel safe? What boundaries do you want to put in place? And how do you want your partner to support you? What about longer labours or the baby is back to back? You’ll learn some simple ways to support yourself through labour, however that looks.

Week 5 - Trust Your Instinct. No one can promise the outcome of a birth because sometimes things happen outside of our control. I share with you what these unexpected curveballs might be and how you make your Positive Plan B, where you maintain your sense of choice and control. This is key to reducing the likelihood of feeling traumatised by your birth experience if things change dramatically from what you had hoped. From waters breaking before labour, to meconium and genuine concerns that you or your care providers may have over the well-being of your baby.

I work in a trauma-informed way, and recognise we all come to this place with our own experiences, and am respectful of the many paths pregnancy and birth can take - from freebirth to planned caesarean.

My focus is on helping you optimise your chances of a physiological vaginal birth, including homebirth, waterbirth, or active birth.

But also we honestly explore the unpredictable nature of physiology so that you still feel strong and can make aligned decisions for you and your baby.

A Container Not a Course

  • Small Group Sessions

Five sessions spread over several weeks, and built entirely around the group. We cover the physiology of labour, your rights within the system, decision-making, birth planning, breathing, movement and whatever else you need to feel genuinely prepared.

  • Support Between Sessions

Alongside our sessions, I am here to support you between calls. If anything arises - such as a scan result, a midwife or consultant appointment, a recommendation you want to talk through - I am just a WhatsApp message away. I am by your side through your journey.

  • BONUS 1:1 Session

An individual birth plan review so that you can create the plan that is tailored to you and your baby. Plus your Plan B in case of unexpected changes along the way.

  • The next container will begin Saturday April 18th, 10-12 GMT.

  • The programme is £250, which will include the live online sessions, the Whatsapp group support element and a bonus 1:1 session.

  • Sessions will not be recorded unless discussed and agreed by the group, to ensure confidentiality.

  • I want to be able to ensure time and space for everyone, to support you and enable everyone to have time to talk in the group, so it will be a maximum of five.

  • Yes, I feel this would be really beneficial for both you and your partner to prepare together and be on the same page for your birth. I’ve worked with partners over the years and it’s so important we acknowledge their own hopes and fears and bust any myths that may affect how they come to the birth.

I know birth.

I know the maternity system.

Now I want to share that with you.

This is me when I was a midwife, supporting a beautiful, undisturbed physiological birth. I spent more than 20 years as a midwife, specialising in optimising healthy, safe, ‘natural’ birth.

I work with women who want to be active participants in their birth, and I will never tell you what to decide. I will make sure you have everything you need to decide for yourself, because no one loves your baby more than you.

Looking for 1:1 Support?

Sometimes a group doesn’t feel right. Perhaps you are neurodivergent, like me, and prefer 1:1. Maybe you have specific support needs, such as previous birth trauma, or planning a birth outside of guidelines, or this is just your first baby, and you’d value more support.

This is where my 1:1 programme comes in.

My Support Through Pregnancy

I offer limited bespoke support packages, as detailed below. The sessions are spread out over the course of your pregnancy, with availability in between should an issue arise which you want to talk through.

It is tailored to your specific needs and includes a post-birth debrief too to answer questions and check in on how you are feeling after the birth and what you might need going forward.
